The yesterday’s election of Ukraine as a member of the UN Security Council may help to return the occupied territories, says a statement of Volodymyr Groysman, speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, posted on his Facebook page.
“The membership in the UN Security Council opens new opportunities for us to fight for returning the temporarily occupied Crimea and Donbas to Ukraine. I’m sure that together we will restore peace and quiet in our state,” said Volodymyr Groysman.
He also claims that the yesterday’s vote shows the support for Ukraine by the international community.
Just a reminder: Yesterday, Ukraine was elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2016-2017 by 177 votes.
