KYIV (QHA) -

Ukraine's Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman spoke about the principles and priorities of the budget for 2017, a QHA jornalist reports.

The first priority is security and defense.

“We need to continue to strengthen the defense capability of our country,” he said during the question hour at the parliament.

Groysman said that decentralization of funds will maintain its high priority in the formation of the new budget.

A separate issue is the Ukraine’s energy independence.

“We plan to attract international resources for the fund, which can be created after the adoption of the law on the energy efficiency of the state. The Cabinet of Ministers intends to allocate UAH 5.5 billion from the budget to agriculture and farming. According to the Prime Minister, it is 1% of the gross volume of the Ukraine’s agricultural production. The development of agriculture will result in development of engineering,” he stressed.

In addition, Volodymyr Groysman promised to raise all social standards by 10% next year.

“The Cabinet of Ministers will take steps to increase wages and fair pensions, and will present them to the Parliament,” promised Groysman. “We will increase the salary for each teacher from UAH 300 to UAH 900 under unified tariff system.”
