BERLIN (QHA) -

The Head of the German counterintelligence service BfV Hans-Georg Maassen told Reuters in an interview that the German authorities are extremely concerned about the danger of Russian interference in the internal affairs of Germany, in particular, in the election of Chancellor in 2017.

“It can happen the next year, and we are alarmed. We have a feeling that it is a part of the hybrid action, aiming to influence public opinion and decision-making processes,” the German official said.

Last week the Chancellor of the republic Angela Merkel made a similar statement. She admitted that there are signs of the network cyber attacks on government websites in Germany by the Russian Federation.

Previously, QHA reported that the President of Bulgaria and representatives from Microsoft informed of cyber attacks from Russia as well.
