January 12, Russian media reported that president of the RF Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is ready to return Ukraine its military equipment from the occupied Crimea. According to the head of the Russian Federation, all Ukrainian military equipment - "dozens of ships and dozens of combat aircraft" - is in a deplorable state. However, Putin himself hastened to add that the Russian Federation is not to blame for this.
The First Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Iryna Gerashchenko sharply responded to the proposal of Russian President Putin to return Ukrainian military equipment from the occupied peninsula, saying that Ukraine does not sell Crimea for ships.
She wrote about this on her Facebook page.
“We do not sell Crimea for ships, we do not lease it and do not exchange it. Yes, these are our ships stolen by Putin. Brought to a terrible state, like the Crimea itself, by the invaders. Everything to which the "Russian world" touches, becomes worthless," she wrote.
Gerashchenko further noted that Ukraine will return "Crimea and all Ukrainian property there, including ships, as well as the Donbas."
