Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov has been summoned to the FSB again today, the First Deputy Head of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis Nariman Jelal posted on his Facebook page.
“The results of the examination turned out to have come from far off. According to them, the man in the video, whose words sparked interest from the law enforcement officers is really Ilmi Umer, although he did not deny it,” he wrote.
It was reported earlier that the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov is accused of "separatist statements" in the annexed Crimea. On July 14, he filed an appeal against the decision to institute criminal proceedings against him to the Kiev District Court of Simferopol. Umerov also sent to a FSB investigator a disclaimer to voluntarily undergo outpatient forensic psychiatric examination, describing it as an attempt to damage his reputation, as well as discredit and humiliate him.
