(QHA) -

Russia’s Federal Security Forces (FSB), together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are conducting drills in Simferopol.

The drills are aimed at working through the methods of cooperation between the law enforcements and the special forces in the case of terrorist threat.

This comes as Russia’s Federal Security Service director Alexander Bortnikov announced in Dec 2014 that the priorities in 2015 would be to improve the system for combating terrorism in Crimea.

Crimea seceded from Ukraine and joined Russia in March, following a local referendum on the region’s status, which was condemned illegal by the western powers and Kyiv.
