WASHINGTON (QHA) -

International human rights organization Freedom House in its annual report called the Russian Federation, a country committing the assassination on political and civil liberties more than any other country in the world. The document was posted on the website of the organization.

“Russia, in stunning displays of hubris and hostility, interfered in the political processes of the United States and other democracies, escalated its military support for the Assad dictatorship in Syria, and solidified its illegal occupation of Ukrainian territory,” reads the report.

It is noted that in addition to external aggression, the government within the Russian Federation continued to restrict political and personal freedoms of its citizens, blocking the work of the political opposition and harassing those who disagree with the current policy of the Kremlin.

It is worth noting that according to the conventional points of legal protection, Russian-occupied Crimea, in particular, scored 9 out of 100. The rest of the territory of Ukraine scored 61 points.

Earlier, the international human rights organization Freedom House has condemned the actions of Russia in Crimea on the illegal detention of lawyers Emil Kurbedinov and Nikolai Polozov as well as activist Seyran Saliev.

According to authoritative defenders, the occupying Russian authorities use their security services to create in Crimea the territory, where protection of basic human rights would be impossible.
