France to assess Ukraine’s readiness for visa-free regime

Minister of Internal Affairs of France Bernard Kaznev will pay an official visit to Ukraine.

The Minister of Internal Affairs of France Bernard Kaznev is to arrive in Ukraine in order to discuss the liberalization of the EU-Ukraine visa regime.

Today, at a joint press conference with Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko the French President Francois Hollande told on the results of the talks, reported Ukrinform.

- We have raised the issue of visa free-regime and specified the conditions that must be fulfilled. The French Interior Minister is monitoring the situation. We are thinking how to organize his visit to Ukraine in order to definitively remove all obstacles, said Hollande.

He went on saying he also discussed with Poroshenko the progress of reforms in Ukraine.

- The judicial and anti-corruption reforms, as well as reforms on the transparency of the financial system - all this will help Ukraine to implement the Association Agreement with the EU, said Hollande.

As QHA reported earlier, according to the forecasts by the Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, the visa-free regime will become a reality this year.
