SIMFEROPOL (QHA) -

Festivities dedicated to Crimean Tatar Flag Day were held in Simferopol children’s park June 26.

Women and children wearing Ukrainian national shirts -- vyshyvanka-- and Crimean Tatar national headgear -- fes – arranged a flashmob, holding Crimean Tatar national flags in their hands.

Among the participants there were Crimean Tatars, Ukrainians and people of other nationalities.

“I came here to support Crimean Tatars on their holiday and to prove that we are friendly, tolerant and liberal. We will support each other no matter what happens. We should remember that our strength is in unity”- noted local resident Boris Taturin.

Crimean authorities did not allow conducting Crimean Tatar Flag Day in the city center, so the main facilities are to take place in Fontany district of Simferopol, area of local residence of Crimean Tatars.

The Flag Day is being marked in Crimea since 2010.
