PARIS (QHA) -

Germany and France called on Russia to condemn the statement of the leader of the "DPR" Aleksander Zakharchenko on "the creation of the state of Malorossiya (Little Russia)."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France noted that the statement is a violation of the Minsk agreements on the settlement of the conflict in the occupied part of the Donbas, contrary to the spirit of negotiations on the settlement in the "Normandy format." The French department has as well confirmed that they remain committed to the full restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty within its recognized borders.

“The Minsk agreements signed by Russia and Ukraine, approved in the "Normany format", as well as in the UN Security Council, are the only format recognized by all parties to achieve a peaceful and sustainable solution to the crisis in this country,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France noted at a briefing.

Germany also expressed the hope that Russia would condemn Zakharchenko's statement about "Little Russia".

"Berlin considers these statements completely unacceptable," the press secretary of the German government said in an interview with a local newspaper.

The spokeswoman also noted that Germany considers the negotiation to be the only way to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Earlier, the leader of the terrorist organization "DPR" Aleksandr Zakharchenko spoke about the creation of a new pseudo-state called Malorossiya - "Little Russia"- which, according to him, should become the "successor of Ukraine".
