KYIV (QHA) -

The European Parliament supported the European Union's provision of a visa-free regime for Ukrainians, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said during the 10th Kyiv Security Forum on Thursday, according to QHA correspondent.

In some weeks after voting in European Parliament the corresponding decision is to be made by the European Council.

The EU Council will finally approve the visa liberalization of the European Union with Ukraine at the meeting on May 11. Thus, the visa-free regime will come into force in June 2017.

Earlier, QHA reported that April 5, before the debates began on the issue of granting visa-free regime for Ukraine, fire alarms worked in the premises of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, so all the deputies were evacuated from the building of the European Parliament.
