The resolution, strongly condemning the illegal imprisonment of Oleg Sentsov and Alexander Kolchenko, calls on Russia to free the two Ukrainian citizens and ensure their safe return to Ukraine.

The European Parliament urges Russia to comply with the Minsk accords and free all Ukrainian citizens, including Nadezhda Savchenko.

It is also stated in the resolution that Russia’s actions violate the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union.

The European MPs denounced kidnappings of Ukrainian and Estonian citizens committed by Russian security services in blatant violation of the two countries’ territorial integrity and thus making their trials illegal.
