The European Union countries are not sufficiently aware of the terrible life realities of the Crimean Tatars in the conditions of the temporary Russia’s occupation, Chief Editor of "Ukrainian Truth" Sevgil Musayeva-Borovik said a forum "Crimean Future" held in Kiev.
- Due to the lack of information on the Crimean Tatars, Europe cannot form a clear picture of what is going on. It only seems to us that Europe knows about our problems, she said.
According to Musayeva-Borovik, so far the Crimean Tatars are concerned over the issues of return and reintegration.
- We're literally surviving in the current situation. The try to split up the Crimean Tatars, told the Chief Editor of Ukrainian Truth.
According to her, the younger generation bears great responsibility in providing objective information since it should convey to the world community the truth about the life of the Crimean Tatars.
- It is our time now - a time of young Crimean Tatars! Said the journalist.
On Thursday, in the framework of the world's debate on the state of democracy and human rights held in Strasbourg the European Parliament voted for a resolution on the situation of the Crimean Tatars in Crimea.
In this document, the MEPs reiterated "a full commitment to the sovereignty, political independence, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders, as well as its free and sovereign choice to follow the European path."
The European Parliament "strongly condemns the decision by the so-called Crimean Supreme Court to ban the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatars and demands to revoke it immediately," reads the resolution.
