Officially, the decision to extend the sanctions enters into force December 20, the correspondent of "Radio Liberty" in Brussels Yozvyak Rickard informed on his social network page.
The EU has approved a decision to extend economic sanctions against Russia for another six months, imposed due to the Russian aggression in Ukraine, the destabilization of the situation in the Donbas, and non-compliance with the Minsk agreements.
The decision was approved on December 19 at a meeting in Brussels.
Earlier, the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed the decision of the European Union to extend sanctions against Russia for six months because of the actions of this state in Ukraine. According to him, the extension of sanctions "gives a clear signal to Moscow that one will have to pay dearly for violation of international law and the change of borders by force."
