The German Federal Government will underfund with extra EUR 3 million the project ‘Humanitarian assistance and protection of internally displaced persons and other vulnerable people affected by the crisis in Ukraine’ being implemented by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees since the beginning of 2015.

Taking into consideration the humanitarian aid of EUR 1 million that has already been provided by the German government, the total amount of German assets allocated only for this project will make up EUR 4 million.

The aim of the project is to improve the living conditions and meet the basic needs of internally displaced persons affected by the conflict in the east of Ukraine. This implies the availability of adapted to winter conditions housing, supply of goods, access to public service and support for people in need: children, the elderly and disabled persons.
