Federica Mogherini, the EU’s Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to its policy of non-recognition of Crimea’s annexation by Russia, reports Evropeyskaya Pravda citing a statement Mogherini made after a meeting of the Association Council.

“We have discussed the situation in Crimea, and particularly the appalling situation with human rights abuses. We have reaffirmed our policy of non-recognition of Russia’s annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol and reminded that all actions to do with non-recognition should be undertaken in a legal manner,” Mogherini said.

Mogherini did not specify which side – the EU or Ukraine - should abide by the relevant legislation
