The European Union will not lift sanctions against the Russian Federation up to the de-occupation of the Crimean peninsula.

“Sanctions imposed against Russia after the annexation of Crimea will remain unchanged until de-occupation of the peninsula,” said the EU High Representative during a meeting with the Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman on Wednesday, March 2, according to the press service of the Verkhovna Rada.

During the meeting the politicians also exchanged views on the internal political situation in Ukraine and discussed ways out of the crisis.

Just a reminder: Ukraine's parliament declared February 20 the official day of the occupation of Crimea.
