(QHA) -

Ministers for Foreign Affairs of members of the European Union at a meeting today, March 16, do not plan to discuss the situation in Ukraine, but issue a statement on the first anniversary of Crimea’s unification with Russia.

"Ukraine will not be discussed, but a statement on the first anniversary of the annexation of Crimea will be made,"-a high-ranking European diplomat told Interfax-Ukraine.

The diplomat said that the ministers would again stress on the position that the European Union does not recognize Crimean unification with Russia.

Crimea seceded from Ukraine and joined Russia in March, following a local referendum on the region’s status, condemned as illegitimate by international community.
