SIMFEROPOL (QHA) - Activists of the “Russian Front” and “Congress of Russian Communities of Crimea” organizations held a meeting at the central square of Simferopol, during which they burned the EU flag, reports UNIAN.
The participants demanded President Viktor Yanukovych, Ukrainian Parliament and Cabinet of Ministers to halt rallies of the opposition forces in Kyiv, which call for European integration and the change of power in the country.
The protesters held banners and flags of Crimea, Russia and St. Andrew’s flag. Among the banners were: “Crimean Russians will never renounce mother Russia!”, “Sirs diplomats, do not put your noses in other people’s huts!” and others. The action brought together over one hundred people.
“We demand an end to political and legal chaos and disorder in Kyiv and some other western regions of Ukraine, covered up with ‘pro-European’ slogans and calling to overthrow the legitimate authorities”, says an appeal of protesters to the President, Cabinet of Ministers and the Parliament.
The protesters burned the EU flag and then marched to the building of the Crimean Parliament.
