On June 28, the European Union extended the economic sanctions against Russia until January 31, 2018, according to the Brussels correspondent of Radio Liberty.
On June 29 this decision is published in the Official Journal of the EU and will enter into force.
Earlier QHA reported that on June 22 EU leaders had agreed to extend economic sanctions against the Russian Federation for another six months. In response, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko thanked European Union for the decision to extend restrictive measures against the Russian Federation. According to him, the extension of sanctions is a manifestation of unity in the struggle against the aggressor country.
