EU Comission not to release report on Ukraine’s readiness for visa-free travel

On December 15, Eurocomission will not release a report on Ukraine’s progress in fully implementing an action plan on visa-free travel.

That is what an Ukrinform reporter has been told by a member of EU diplomatic corps.

“We are talking about the possibility of releasing such a statement on December 21,” said the agency’s interviewee.

The report is a final formality Ukraine is to fulfill for EU member states to be able to abolish visa regime. By summer 2016, Kiev is to demonstrate tangible successes in fighting corruption.

Once visa-free travel is introduced, Ukrainian citizens will be able to travel freely to EU countries and stay there for three months every 6 months. Visa-free travel does not mean Ukrainians will be allowed to seek employment in the EU.
