More than three million illegal migrants stay in the territory of Turkey, according to the President of the Republic Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At the Turks foundation reception in New York, he stressed that Turkey continues to assist States that faced difficulties, the AA agency reports.
The Turkish President, as well as his Western counterparts, continues to seek the establishment of a no-fly zone in Syria, which will greatly contribute the security in the state and the transfer of power to the moderate opposition troops.
President Bashar al-Assad does not want to lose control of both Aleppo and the whole of Syria. The main objective of his regime, according to the Turkish leader, is to harass Syrians out of Aleppo to the territory of the Turkish province of Gaziantep.
“We will not allow to implement this plan, as well as to create a wide corridor controlled by terrorists [Kurdish - Ed.] in the north of Syria,” Erdogan said.
Speaking about the Kurdish terrorists in Syria, he told about the American planes that arrived a few days ago in the Syrian city of Cobán, carrying arms for the Kurdish terrorist organization PYD. Moreover, some of the weapons fell into the hands of ISIL terrorists. The Turkish leader wonders why Americans support Kurdish militants?
“It’s hard to understand the reasons why the US supports Kurdish terrorists. We are told that the PYD fights ISIL. Isn’t Al-Nusra Front has not been fighting with the Islamic State? Then why don’t you support the organization of Al-Nusra Front, which is considered terrorist? Where is the logic? Why don’t you recognize those terrorists, indicated by Ankara?”
December 2015, the Kurdish militants siding with the United States expanded their influence on the western bank of the Euphrates River. They assured the International community that they aim at fighting against ISIL terrorists. But it has become clear that the militants are just trying to strengthen their control of the region.
