In Kyiv on February 10, the eleventh meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Crimean Tatars was held, the QHA correspondent reports.

The meeting was attended by Refat Chubarov, President of the Congress, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, the members of the Executive Committee, members of the Audit Commission, representatives of the Crimean Tatar diaspora from Turkey and Lithuania, in particular Secretary General of the WCCT Namık Kemal Bayar, Head of the Crimean Tatar Association of Culture and Mutual Aid in Turkey Mükremin Şahi, Head of the Crimean Tatar Association of Culture and Mutual Aid in Istanbul Celâl İçten, Chairman of the Union of Lithuanian Tatar Communities Adas Jakubauskas, Head of the Audit Commission and Qurultay Ali Ozenbash, vice-President of the WCCT Lenur  Islyamov, member of the Coordinating Council of the WCCT from the Crimea Zevdet Kurtumerov, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov, members of the Mejlis Gayana Yuksel, Riza Shevkiev, Abmedzhit Suleymanov, Eskender Bariev , First Deputy Minister for Issues of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Yusuf Kurkchi, representative of Turkey Ümit Şilit, as well as representatives of the youth wing of the WCCT and Crimean Tatar activists.

The Executive Committee of the WCCT discussed the following issues:

1. The situation with the destruction of the Khan Palace in Bakhchysarai and drafting of a special statement by the Congress;

2. Development of activities for the 4th anniversary of the occupation of the Crimea and the 100th anniversary of the death of Noman Çelebicihan;

3. Discussion of the situation in the occupied Crimea;

4. Preparation of an statements regarding amending section 10 of the Constitution of Ukraine and providing Congress with support for the Diaspora on this issue.

Reference. The World Congress of the Crimean Tatars is the body, bringing together the Crimean Tatars living in their historic homeland, in Crimea, and in the Diasporas in different countries of the world (Turkey, Romania, Poland, USA, Canada, Lithuania, Western Europe and Central Asia).

Three first meetings of the Executive Committee were held in Romania and Ukraine (in Kyiv and in the village of Chongar, Kherson region), the fourth session was held in Vilnius (Lithuania) on April 11-13, 2016, and the fifth meeting of the WCCT Executive Committee took place in the Turkish city of Eskisehir on July 29 - 31, 2016. Sessions from the sixth to ninth were held in Kyiv.
