KYIV (QHA) -
For consideration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, a draft law on the recognition of persons imprisoned on the decision of the Russian authorities as political prisoners, and the conditions and procedure for providing them with state social assistance and benefits has been submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the website of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informs.
 
The corresponding bill was registered on July 13 by Ukrainian MP Mustafa Dzhemilev, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people.
 
 
According to this bill, today, 60 Ukrainian citizens can obtain the status of a political prisoner. The draft law assumes a monthly payment to families of political prisoners in the amount of two minimum wages (UAH 6,400) and a number of social benefits.
