Head of Mejlis Refat Chubarov and the Presidential Commissioner for the Affairs of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev at a meeting with Foreign Minister of the UK Boris Johnson discussed the situation in the occupied Crimea, as well as the need for an international forum to discuss the issues of the peninsula de-occupation.
“We drew the attention of the Foreign Minister on the need to establish international platforms to address directly the issue of de-occupation of the Crimea. The states that would, in our view, dominate at these platforms, are the guarantor countries of the Budapest Memorandum - the United Kingdom and the United States,” Chubarov said.
Earlier, March 1, Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom and Poland, Boris Johnson and Witold Waszczykowski arrived on a visit to Ukraine. They have already held meetings with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin, and the mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko.
