Disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against 278 Crimean judges who in violation of their judicial oath administered justice on behalf of the Russian Federation, said the press service of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office citing a decision made by the High Qualification Commission of Judges after considering a letter submitted by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office.

It was reported earlier that a criminal case was initiated against Crimean judges by the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office. If found guilty, the judges may face a prison term of up to 15 years and have their property seized, as prescribed by Section 1 of Article 111 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (high treason).
