Yesterday, January 14, Sevastopol City Court again extended the detention of Ruslan Zeytullaev and Rustem Vaitov, two of the four defendants in the so-called Hizb ut-Tahrir case.
The detention was extended until March 22, press service of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars reports.
The hearings in the case involving two more defendants Nuri Primov and Ferat Sayfullaev are to be held today.
It was reported earlier, that the defendants in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case were detained by the FSS (Russia’s Federal Security Service) in early 2015 on suspicion of creation and involvement in a terrorist organization. They are charged with an offense under Part. 2, Art. 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (participation in the organization recognized as terrorist one under the RF legislation).
On November 10, 2015, the court extended the detention of all four defendants until January 22, 2016.
