At the 11th meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Congress of the Crimean Tatars (WCCT), which took place in Kyiv on Feburary 10, the former Director of the Bakhchysarai Historical and Cultural Reserve Elmira Ablyalimova made a report on the state of affairs with the so-called restoration of the Khan Palace by invaders of the Khan Palace in Bakhchysarai, QHA correspondent reports.

According to her, the occupiers have already partially destroyed the authenticity of the palace, and certain objects cannot be restored.

Members of the Executive Committee of the Congress also heard the report of the General Secretary of the WCCT Namık Kemal Bayar, who spoke about the work carried out in the Diaspora on the situation with the Khan Palace, in particular about the information campaign in Turkey, the USA and Canada.

The Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz suggested calling on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on behalf of the WCCT, to assist in halting the destruction of the Khan's Palace.

Also, Congress decided to request the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan to send a group of specialists from Turkey to Crimea to analyze the situation with Han Saray.

In addition, an extended report has been prepared on the current situation with Khan-Saray in Russian and English, which will also be translated into the Turkish language in the near future.

The Congress also intends to appeal to Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar cultural figures with an appeal to take part in an information campaign to protect the Khan Palace from destruction.

The situation with the Khan Palace in the occupied Crimea became the basis for holding a special thematic meeting of the National Commission of Ukraine for UNESCO, which was held on January 19 in the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
