Crimean Tatar Association for Culture and Mutual Assistance of Turkey (Dernek) appealed to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey to take measures regarding Yuksel’s ban on entry Crimea.
Ismet Yuksel, General Director of the Crimean News Agency [QHA] and Mejlis adviser on relations with Turkey, who also served as journalist for Turkish TRT Chanel, has been banned from entering Crimea for 5 years.
“Yuksel was banned entry Crimea being accused of inciting interethnic hatred, without presenting any arguments or warnings, without right for defense, without any explanations. The decision to ban the entry is unjust”- reads the statement of Dernek.
Dernek members consider the ban as an attempt to “damp the sound of Crimean Tatar.”
“Ismet Yuksel is coordinator of QHA news agency, so his ban on entry Crimea means a wish to hinder his work, to restrict the freedom of the press, as well as to prevent lighting issues of Crimean Tatar people to the World”- the Dernek noted.
To recall, International Association of Journalists of Turkic countries also condemned the Ismet Yuksel’s ban on entry Crimea.
