Davutoğlu meets Iraqi Turks

ANKARA (QHA) - Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and Justice and Development (AK) Party Deputy Chairman Numan Kurtulmuş participated the mawlid ceremony for Turkmen martyrs on Friday in Ankara.
Iraq Turkmen Front (ITF) representative in Turkey organized a mawlid prayers in Maltepe mosque for 54th anniversary of massacre of the Turkmens in Kirkuk, according to Anadolu Ajansı.
Kurtulmuş told Anadolu Agency, (AA) "Turkmens in Iraq continuously face rights violations in north of Iraq."
On 14 July 1959, fights broke out between the Iraqi Turkmens and Kurds, leaving some 20 Iraqi Turkmens dead in Kirkuk.
Davutoğlu later received children of Deputy Head of ITF Ali Hasim Muhtaroğlu who lost his life in a suicide attack in Iraq's Tuz Khurmatu district of Saladin province on June 25
"We all pray for peace and welfare of Iraq. We provide all kinds of assistance for our Turkmen brothers to live in peace and security in Iraq," said Davutoğlu.
"You are the greatest assurance of Iraqi Turks for us," told Davutoğlu to the children, and added that Turkey would meet all kinds of needs of them.
