Czech President Miloš Zeman humorously said that anti-Russian sanctions should be canceled to establish mutually beneficial ties between Moscow and Prague.
“I am an agent of Russia, namely Vladimir Putin. I must also add that I am an agent of the President of China. Now, it looks like I'm also the agent of American President Donald Trump. I am an agent of Israel, which I have support for a long time. I seek the lifting of sanctions against Russia and mutually beneficial economic relations with Russia. But in fact, I am an agent of only one country - the Czech Republic," he said.
In turn, the Czech government says that there is no reason to talk about lifting sanctions against Russia.
It is worth noting that in the Czech Republic the President has rather limited powers, most of the issues of domestic and foreign policy are decided by the government.
