Whole Ukraine bows head before the memory of victims of deportation of Crimean Tatar people.

Ukrainian MP, presidential candidate Yulia Tymoshenko said this in a statement on her official website on May 18.

“70 years ago more then 200 thousand Crimean Tatars were claimed betrayers and were exiled to Central Asia, Siberia and Ural. Fates of absolutely innocent people, whose relatives fought at the fronts during World War II, were destroyed for the sake of imperious dictator.”- she said.

“On this sorrowful day, I bow my head before all the victims of deportation. May the memory of those who dreamed to return to the Motherland, but failed, live on forever”- she added.

“Crimean Tatars are an example of courage and patriotism. We express our support and gratitude.”- she summed up.

To reacall, May 18, Crimea marked 70 anniversary of Crimean Tatar deportation in 1944.
