Editors and journalists of creative association of the Crimean Tatar programs of Crimean State TV and Radio Company “Krym” were dismissed from their posts and now are going to sue the company over their dismissal.

Editors Zure Pinka, Elmaz Velieva, Surie Ibraimova, Arzy Selimova as well as producers Edie Ablaeva, Ayder Yagyayev were dismissed Sept 26.

According to former chief editor of Crimean Tatar programs of the State TV and Radio Company “Krym” Arzy Selimova, no one expected the dismissal.  

“There were about 300 people working in the company. Two month ago the leadership of “Krym” company announced that it would be liquidated, as well as all the Crimean companies. Still we were assured that no one would be dismissed- Selimova said. After 2 month the company announced enrolment of a new stuff as the previous one had already been dismissed”.

“The edition has been working since 1990. We have given 24 years to our beloved work. We regret having to leave all that was made in the most difficult times for development of Crimean Tatar national television to short-sighted leadership”- Selimova said.

Commenting the dismissal, director of creative association of the Crimean Tatar programs of Crimean State TV and Radio Company “Krym” Seyran Mambetov said the stuff was dismissed over “professional disparity”, adding that “the stuff was refreshed with young breath”, as most of the journalist are studying in universities.

Total of 100 people out of 300 were dismissed.
