Roman Semenuha, MP with Self Reliance Party, told a QHA newsman how and why the Crimean Tatar flag was unfurled over the office located in the city center:
- How has flag appeared here? We simply bought it. We believe Ukraine has two constituent nationalities: Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars. They cannot create their own state anywhere else except this territory. Our nations have much in common, they share many bright moments in the history, and the happiest days still await us!
We fully support Crimean Tatars’ striving for autonomy within united Ukraine. We share their goals and objectives, and, I would like to stress once again, we are two close and kindred nations. Therefore, the flag over the office expresses our support for all Crimean Tatars.
In the last local elections in the city of Kharkiv, the Self Reliance Party took most of the seats in the parliament as 13 MPs of the Party entered City Council.
As of now, the MPs with the Self Reliance Party are the most active faction in City Council.
