SIMFEROPOL/AQMESCIT (QHA) -

The Simferopol City "Administration" held a meeting on preparation and holding events dedicated to the Crimean Tatars Remembrance Day of Deportation.

The meeting was attended by the so-called Head of the Simferopol City Administration Gennady Bakharev, former member of the Mejlis Teyfuk Gafarov, who went over to the occupiers, and security agencies.

Issues on arranging events, devoted to the Crimean Tatars Remembrance Day of Deportation, were on the agenda. The meeting attendees emphasized the need to comply with the legislation of Russia, a country-occupier, which regulates that the meetings, rallies, demonstrations, marches, pickets and auto races may only be carried out in coordination with local authorities.

It was reported earlier that a search was conducted in the home of a Crimean Tatar in the Crimean village of Pionerske.

Russian security forces searched a mosque in the village of Vishennoye, Belogorsk district, on the evening of May13.

On May12, the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov voiced his concern about a new wave of raids after security forces invaded the Caravanserai “Salachik” Crimean Tatar Cultural Center in Bakhchysarai. On that day, Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov, Rustem Abiltarov and Enver Mamutov were arrested.

The so-called Crimean prosecutor Natalia Poklonskaya called the detainees terrorists, accusing them of involvement in "Hizb ut-Tahrir" international political party.

On May 6, armed men raided a mosque in the village of Molodizhne, Simferopol district, during Jumu'ah and detained more than 100 Muslims. On the way to the intended destination, they were released but ordered to show up at the police station.

According to the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Ilmi Umerov - who was also detained on May 12 and released on recognizance not to leave - the FSB (Russian Security Service) by all mentioned actions is attempting to intimidate the representatives of the Crimean Tatar people on the eve of the 72nd anniversary of deportation of the Crimean Tatars, which falls on next Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
