During his visit to the Crimean prisoners Ahtem Chiygoz, Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermendzhi in Simferopol jail, the Head of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat, Commissioner for Human Rights of Ukraine Bohdan Kriklivenko learned that the invaders put psychological pressure on prisoners. He told about it on the air of "Gromadske radio".
In particular, the day of the meeting, they are taken out of jail before breakfast on purpose and are not fed after returning.
“They were taken to the hearing early in the morning, so in the morning they were not present at the detention center during the breakfast. Accordingly, they came back after lunch, and they were not provided with any lunch. They were not given any rations. Thus, people actually stayed without meal until the evening,” Kriklivenko said.
Earlier QHA reported that December 26, Valeria Lutkovska visited the Crimean Tatars kept in custody in Simferopol prison. During the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz drew attention of the Ombudsman to the repression against the Crimean Tatars. The obviously disproportionate aggression and rigidity on the part of law enforcement agencies in conducting searches and detentions was discussed as well.
