Crimean Parliament supported the decision of the Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers to suspend “in the interests of national security” the process of preparation for signing the Association Agreement with the EU.
The corresponding decree was developed and read out to the deputies of the Crimean Parliament by its head Vladimir Konstantinov. 79 out of 85 deputies voted for this decision.
In the decree, the Crimean Parliament expressed support to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in relation of suspension of preparation for signing the Association Agreement with the EU. It also condemns “the destructive actions” of opposition parties, namely Svoboda, Batkivshina and Udar, which, according to decree “speculate on European values, cause hysteria around the Association Agreement, lead to a split in society and destabilize social and political situation in the country”. The Crimean deputies also expressed support for establishment of friendly ties with Russia “through mutually beneficial agreements”.
To be noted, member of Crimean Parliament and head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov did not support the declaration.
