Deputies of Crimean Parliament will vote for new head of Crimean Republic October 9.

Following decree was approved at Parliament session August 8 in Simferopol.

The current acting head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov was appointed by Russian President Vladimir Putin following Russia's annexation of Crimea in March.

Being appointed to the post, Aksyonov said he would "justify the trust" Putin had shown him.

Putin also confirmed that elections for governor and parliament would be held in Crimea on September 14.

Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people announced it would boycott the elections.
