Crimean authorities did not approve the route of cars march, dedicated to Crimean Tatar Flag Day, excluding central streets of the city of Simferopol, secretary of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Dilyaver Akiyev said.

“March of 115 cars along the central streets of the city in working hours and rush hours may disturb the traffic of public transport and violate the rights of passengers, that is unacceptable”- reads the statement of Simferopol City Council.

On June 17 Simferopol City Council refused Mejlis’s appeal to conduct Crimean Tatar Flag Day, scheduled for June 26 in Simferopol city center (Trenyov Park), referring to limited area of the park, that “may create conditions for violation of public order, the rights and legitimate interests of other citizens” and proposed to  conduct the event in Salgir Park.

To recall, Crimean authorities have also banned May 18 mourning meeting commemorating victims of Crimean deportation of 1944.
