Crimea referendum: 64% turnout by 15h00: Malyshev

Crimeans are voting today, March 16 on whether to break away from Ukraine and join Russia in a referendum. The first results will be announced around 21h30 local time.

Meanwhile, by 15h00, 970,019 or 63,97% of Crimeans (without city of Sevastopol) have voted already.  Head of commission for referendum preparation Mikhail Malyshev said this to journalists.

According to him, the highest turnout is Kerch- 75%; the lowest is in Saki- about 50%.  Also, Malyshev informed that no violations were reported by this time.
