(QHA) -

Personnel policy in Crimea will be based on merits, not on national quotes, Crimea’s acting premier Sergey Aksyonov announced, according to RIA Novosti.

“Crimean Tatars representation in the government, as well as representation of any other people, will be based on professional skills. Crimean Tatar representative bodies such as the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people and Kurultay will be recognized legitimate only after official registration and in case they cooperate with Crimean Authorities.”- Aksyonov said.

To recall, April 11, Crimean Parliament adopted a new constitution of the republic. The constitution, however, does not stipulate preferences and quotas in government bodies for representatives of any of the ethnicities inhabiting the Crimean peninsula, including the Crimean Tatars.
