Ruslan Balbec, Vice-Premier of the self-proclaimed Crimean government, said:
"Taking this unfriendly step, Erdogan associates himself with anti-Russian extremist forces. We consider this meeting as a step aimed at aggravation of the political crisis caused by Turkey. Erdogan, following the lead of radicals from Mejlis intends to use in its political game the Crimean Tatar factor with prejudice to the interests of Crimean Tatars."
Remzi Ilyasov, the Second Vice-speaker of the Crimean parliament and head of Qırım Moscow-backed Crimean Tatar organization, simply echoed the words of Ruslan Balbec:
"Meeting of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, and Mustafa Jemilev, leader of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, is outrageous and anti-Russian. Interests of Jemilev and Erdogan overlapped. Their common interest is anti-Russian policy," RIA Krym reports, citing Ilyasov as saying.
