(QHA) -

Crimean authorities have decided to nationalize Crimean property of Ukrainian billionaire and Dnipropetrovsk administration head Ihor Kolomoisky.

70  out of 100 lawmakers supported the initiative submitted by Crimean Premier Sergey Aksyonov.

"The property belonging to Mr. Kolomoisky will be sold via auction, and the money will be spent on the compensation for the deposits [by Crimean residents in PrivatBank belonging to Kolomoisky] that cannot be refunded through the Depositors Protection Fund," Crimea’s acting Premier Sergey Aksyonov said at the Parliament session.

A criminal case has been opened in Russia against Kolomoisky and Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov under Russian articles on “the masterminding of murder, the use of prohibited methods and means of warfare, abduction, and the hindering of the legitimate activities of journalists.”

Kolomoisky is one of Ukraine’s richest people, whose personal wealth is estimated by Forbes at $1.8 billion.
