Crimea lifts ban on Ukrainian food imports

Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor gas lifted the ban on Ukrainian imports on the territory pf Crimea till January 1, 2015. Following document was signed by deputy head of Rosselkhoznadzor on August 19, Blackseanews reports.

Russia has banned all dairy imports from Ukraine, citing a lack of quality control July 28.

Russia had previously banned imports of products from thirteen Ukrainian cheese factories, as well as all imports of potatoes “for fear of the presence of golden nematode in the products and pork due to the threat of African Swine Fever”.

It should be noted, that Russian Rospotrebnadzor consumer rights watchdog has banned imports of canned vegetables, fruit and fish from Ukraine.

The watchdog has revealed “repeated violations of Russian legislation on protection of consumer rights by several Ukrainian companies producing canned food”.

Also in effect at the moment in Russia are restrictions on the supplies of confectioneries from the Ukrainian factories owned by President Petro Poroshenko.
