A court hearing to consider appeals against the extension of detention of the Crimean Tatars arrested in Bakhchysarai has not taken place because of the explosion threat at the Simferopol prison where the defendants are being kept now, Nariman Jelal posted on Facebook.
“The court hearing, scheduled for 1 pm, to consider the appeals against the extension of detention for the Crimean Tatars arrested in Bakhchysarai on May 12, 2016, has not been held today. The court, referring to the alleged bomb threat in prison and inability to provide videoconferencing, adjourned the meeting for tomorrow at 12.30 pm,” N. Jelal wrote.
It was reported earlier that Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov, Rustem Abiltarov and Enver Mamutov were detained by FSB officers after searches being conducted in their houses in Bakhchisarai on May 12.
The Kremlin-appointed Natalia Poklonskaya said that four followers of "Hizb ut-Tahrir" organization recognized by Russia as terrorist one were detained on that day in Bakhchysarai.
The detained Muslims are accused of "organizing a terrorist organization and participation in its activities" (Article 205.5. Parts 1 and 2 of the RF Criminal Code).
