Crimea appoints its first ombudsman ever

Former chairman of permanent commission of Crimean Parliament on legislation and legal issues Lyudmila Lubina was appointed Crimea ombudsman. She is the first ombudsman ever appointed in Crimea.

Following decision was made July 9, during the session of Crimean Parliament, QHA correspondent reports.

Ombudsman is charged with representing the interests of the public by investigating and addressing complaints of maladministration or violation of rights. 

Crimean Premier Sergey Aksyonov nominated Lubina for the post.

Lubina will swear in as ombudsman tomorrow, July 10.
