The international conference “Crimean Tatars in Three Years After the Occupation of the Crimea: The Current Situation and Further Strategy for the International Community” began in Vilnius, a journalist Yuri Lukanov reported on Facebook:

“The conference will discuss various aspects of the occupation of Crimea: the violation of international law during the annexation of the Crimea, the situation with human rights in the Crimea, violation of property rights on the peninsula. They will also discuss Lithuania’s international activity intended to further non-recognition of the annexation of Crimea. The Human Rights Information Center made a review of the situation on freedom of speech in the Crimea and the Crimean Tatar media.”



Lukatov said that the Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, the Chairman of the “Sila Prava” (Power of Right) public movement Andriy Senchenko, the Ukrainian Ambassador in Lithuania Volodymyr Yatsenkivsky, the Lithuanian Ambassador in Ukraine Marius Yanukonis, and members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people took part in the conference.

The members of the Seimas of Lithuania, experts and scientists join the conference as well.

“The conference is organized by the Seimas of Lithuania and the World Congress of the Crimean Tatars in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and the parliamentary forum for democracy”.

Moreover, exhibition of the artist Rustem Eminov under the title “Remember”, dedicated to the history of the Crimean Tatar people will be opened during the conference.

Earlier QHA reported about the statement on the results of the III Free Russia Forum, which emphasized that “the internationally recognized Russian-Ukrainian border should be restored”.
