BRUSSELS (QHA) -

In Brussels, a conference entitled "4 Years of Occupation - Ways of Supporting the Crimea and the Crimean Tatars" began in the building of the European Parliament. The event is dedicated to the annexation of the Crimea by Russia.

The conference is attended by the leader of the Crimean Tatar people, the Presidential Commissioner of Ukraine for Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev, the Deputy Chairmen of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov.

The organizers of the event were the public organizations "CrimeaSOS" and "International partnership for human rights", as well as the deputies of the European Parliament: Rebecca Harms, Petras Auštrevičius and Jaromír Štětina.

Participants of the conference - human rights activists, lawyers, European parliamentarians - are discussing the issue of Crimea's de-occupation.

At the end of the conference, the participants will be shown the film "Mustafa" about the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev.

Earlier, January 23 in Tallinn, a seminar "De-occupation of the Crimea: When and how" took place, which discussed the ways of possible use of Estonia's experience in countering Russian influence.
