Complaint lodged by Crimean Tatar to be considered by Court of Appeal

“A complaint over a verdict handed down by Simferopol’s Kiev District Court whereby Mustafa Degermenji, Crimean Tatar activist, is to be taken into custody due to his involvement in a rally held on February 26, 2014, has been lodged with a court of appeal by Mustafa Degermenji. The court meeting is scheduled to start at 9.30 a.m., August 28, 2015.

They demand that Mustafa Degermenji and Ali Asanov give false testimony against Akhtem Chiygoza (Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis),” Zair Smedlyayev, Head of the Central Executive Committee of the Kurultay of Crimean Tatar People, wrote on his Facebook page.

Mustafa Degermenji got detained by individuals numbering 6 to 8, who were wearing full combat gear and wielding machine guns. The detainment took place in the village of Grushevka of the Sudak region on May 7, 2015.
