(QHA) - The Executive Committee of the CIS refuted information about existence of a letter referring to problems at customs between Russia and Ukraine, reports ForUm.
"The CIS Executive Committee is not aware of the existence of such a document. The letter, which the media refer to, does not exist," the CIS Executive Committee spokesperson said.
Ukrainian media, referring to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, spread information that the CIS Executive Committee in its letter expressed willingness to contribute to the settlement of customs complications between Ukraine and Russia. The letter allegedly stated that the introduction of Russian customs restrictions contradicts the agreement on the establishment of a free trade area between the countries of the CIS.
According to press service of the CIS Executive Committee, "resolution of bilateral economic disputes between states" is beyond the competence of the executive committee.
